Operations Summary

Enlisted below are the operations summary:

  • The Lahore Division Cattle Market Management Company was established under the Companies Ordinance 1984 with a mission to modernize the current Cattle Markets of Lahore Division. The LDCMMC was tasked with the elimination of the commission mafia and giving the best possible services to the general public and facilitating them in buying and selling. Currently, the LDCMMC is functioning under the vision of the Honorable Chief Minister Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Shareef to provide free basic services to the general public.
  • In the first stage, the company acquired the Shekhupura Cattle Market on 2nd April, 2015. This is a state of the art Model Cattle Market. Facilities offered include modern sheds, cemented khurli’s, a dispensary, 24 hours water supply through water storage tanks, a restaurant, a dormitory, tea stalls, fodder shops, an auction ring and other facilities which every Model Cattle Market must possess.
  • LDCMMC performed the tendering process of the restaurant, tea stalls, fodder shops and other facilities very efficiently. Shahpur Kanjran Cattle Market of Lahore is a traditional Cattle Market which was working under the traditional, cruel contractor dominated system. After taking over the Management of Lahore Shahpur Market, LDCMMC identified lacking services and facilities.
  • According to the approved summary from the Honorable Chief Minister, some services were outsourced and tenders were floated, and as a result, proper legal contracts were done with new contractors. These contracts generated revenues of approximately 42 million PKR. This was an important step towards a self-sustained Cattle Market Model. After one month, LDCMMC found out that 7 contractors were involved in traditional malpractices. As a result, contracts worth 22 million PKR were cancelled.
  • LDCMMC also offers a variety of free services. These include professional Veterinary Services that ensure unprecedented bio-security, un-interrupted Water and Electricity supply, state of the art Shades (sheds) equipped with water and power, efficient Loading and unloading services, well organized parking, round the clock security, and toilets and cleanliness facilities to ensure that the Cattle Markets remain spick and span and maintain efficient functioning.
